So I am going to be DIYing our invitations, save the dates, programs, etc.  Basically everything paper for the wedding.  I had done most of these things, but recently I was just so uninspired by the stuff I had put together.  Our save the dates (below) were just so blah and not us.  Our invitation suite was boring and again- not us.  Our program fans were cute, but didn't really match the feel of the wedding (neither did the save the dates, come to think of it...)

So this weekend I put in some serious time re-designing everything.  I am so much happier with everything now.  I stole the layout/design for our save the dates from Wedding Paper Divas.  I took the idea for the invites from Minted, and then used the same motif to make enclosure cards, thank you notes, and programs.  I would have done the same for our save the dates, but I don't like when save the dates are too matchy-matchy with everything else.  I just had to report because I'm just so much happier with everything now.

I also figured out how many invitations I need to send out (64) and decided to make 80 invites- that way we'll have extras in case some get lost in the mail or in case we need to add any last minute extras.  Also, we'll have one for our pictures on the wedding day, as well as one to frame for our home.  I then figured out what I'll need to order from C&P to start assembling them, and will probably order paper/envelopes in early December so I can start slowly putting things together & addressing my envelopes.

Last but not least, I have gathered almost all of the addresses I need to complete our guest list.  I still need to get them from Chris' mom, but nearly my whole family and almost all of our friends are finished.  Yay!

Today has been wonderful so far.  Fi and I slept in until noon.  I got a call from my bestie (and MOH) down in Georgia saying that she got a teaching job.  And we finalized our guest list.

I was feeling pretty uneven to start.  We were aiming to invite 90 people, since our probable venue only holds 80.  My family had 20 people, Chris' had 32, and we had 36 friends.  With some rearranging, my family now has 30 people (I get to invite my cousins!  Yay!), Chris still has 32, and we're inviting 30 friends.  That means we're inviting 92 (not 90) people, but we think it will all work out.  Thank God we have all the same friends- that could have been a nightmare.

It's so nice to feel like *something* is done.  I feel like so much is up in the air or in progress, so it's great to have something in concrete.  Our first big fat check.  Now, if only we could find a venue and nail down our date...

I've been making paper flowers like crazy.  After a burn on the glue gun last night, I stopped.  But I fully plan to have Fi cut more paper so I can keep going when I get home from work tonight.
